There are a lot of things celebrated in October:: Breast Cancer Awareness, Adopt a Shelter Dog Month, Halloween, Bat Appreciation Month... But what many may not know, is that October 15 is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day, where the moms who have lost babies to miscarriage, stillbirth, SIDS, or experienced the death of a newborn are recognized. The silence has a chance to be broken. It's a tricky thing—miscarriage. Many try to tell you about their experience or if they know someone who has also been through it. It can feel like they are trying to "one up" you by saying, "Oh, you lost two? We had five before our son was born." People just don't know what to say, or do.
But no matter how your react or choose to recognize your loss, know that it's okay. Everyone deals with grief differently and whatever you are feeling—or aren't—is normal for you. No one else has had your exact experience, has carried and loved your baby. On Houston Moms Blog. xoxo Click here to be a part of our foster adoption journey!
