This crazy thing called, "Enneagram." I have been fascinated! {May even be guilty of asking several of my friends to take a test and confirm their Types.
Over the course of 2021, I had to responsibility of leading our Houston Moms deep dive into all of the Enneagram Types. What a ride! I learned a lot about my fellow writers—and types!

Foster care is incredibly rewarding. On the opposite side of the same coin, at times the weight of the pressure to be perfect can be crushing. The expectation is to never misstep. Never say something wrong or lose your cool. The standard feels near impossible. For me, the fear of doing something wrong led to a whole lot of "no" in our household.
Do you ever get the feeling you've been sidelined? As if you are existing just on the brink of everything going on and you can see it, but you can't quite reach.
Ironically, that happened to us. Another unpredicted side effect from fostering. Because we do not have biological children, when we work to reunite our foster loves with their families, we become empty nesters. Empty nesters don't get invitations to kid parties. You can already smell the cookie butter, can't you?
I love walking into Trader Joe's. Not only does it do wonders for my anxiety (large chain groceries give me the heebie jeebies), but the first thing you see is rows of fresh cut flowers on wooden boxes. What a welcome! |
AuthorWriting is really my outlet, so you'll mostly see my prose on here. But William might occasionally make a guest appearance. Archives
