You prepare for a lot of things in training, but they don't prepare you for all of the little ways you'll feel like you are different than everyone else around you. Our community and Tapestry family have been a net for us when we flail in this chaos. Part of being a foster parent is living in the isolation that a lot of your life is a secret. You can't share milestones, you can't post that hilarious video of them dancing to "Baby Shark," no Christmas Cookie memories on Timehop, and surprise! not just anyone can watch your kiddos while you sneak away for an overdue date night.
