Any other unashamed dog moms out there? It's true. If I were to win the lottery tomorrow, I'd have a rescue ranch for children and shelter dogs—no question. When we received our first placement call, we had zero parenting experience. We weren't going in exactly blind, but we didn't know what awaited us either. Lucky for us, we had a few furloves that prepared us along the way. Never pee alone? Check.
Always have snacks? Check. The end of personal space as you know it? Check. I know, there are the loud voices out there that will scream over and over that dogs are not the same as children—and in many anatomical ways, they are correct.
