Most of us have at least one or two superheroes in our lives. People who swooped in and changed the way we did things, thought about things, or fundamentally shifted our life in some way. Mine just happens to be 4 years old. COVID brought many unexpected things, but one of my first huge disappointments was that I could not be with my nephew on his birthday. Despite anything in the past, I had always moved mountains to be around for any large {and small} milestones that I could. I didn't have the power to move this one.
Using the tool I had on hand—my words—I put together some advice that doesn't mean much now while we're putting together puzzles and teaching his mom how to play Chutes & Ladders, but one day, I hope he'll come across it and know that Aunt K was always in his corner. Happy Birthday, Superhero. xoxo
